30 cals and 12 gauges are boring. Not that they don't work they are just boring.
My Garand is a hoot to shoot, and you are full of it.

I move for a recall of the Commissar, uh, Kaiser, uh, Comrade Committee Person. If he can't even get the address of Grandpa's correct, he needs to be relieved of duty. If we can't vote him out it's time for a coup- how 'bout you?

The committee has taken under review a political in nature swipe made by a habitual offender at it's benevolent leadership for the cause of children and ladies in the shooting sports. It must be noted that the prime Flatwater directive is no politics and that rule has been broken in the meanest of spirits willfully, wantonly and without shame. This is the single most serious incident in Flatwater history.

We take this matter seriously and will carefully and fully consider the appropriate course of disciplinary action. Tofu and lettuce is not out of the question for ALL meals and Friday appetizers given the heinous nature of the offense. That's right the vegan option is on the table and probable. We will not rect out of anger or outrage but will instead allow the heat of the moment to pass then render a ruling out of wisdom and concern for the common Flatwater attendee.

It will be noted the Flatwater executive committee welcomed anything in the venerable .30-06 for the 100th anniversary of said chambering be it a 1903, a Garand or any other. The opinion of the committee that the most commonplace isn't as interesting as the bore diameters listed stands and is merely factual. What's more interesting a .30-06 or a 9.3x64mm or an 8x68S? It's easy to see. We can expand the comparo 12 ga Benelli camo turkey gun with one solo choke or 28 ga funeral Purdey?

The Committee.

Is there a rifle range on the grounds at the shoot?

I have a shooting buddy who just picked up a spectacular Merkel drilling, and I might be able to talk him into making the long ride with me, if he thought he could make good use of the new toy.

We currently have no official rifle range. With the doubling of size of Grandpa's available acres I am strongly encouraging the powers that be to put one in as a way to be able to have full experience hunting and shooting classes for the children.

We have in the past set up an impromptu range.

Chuck, not to worry. The Iowegians (Iowenies?) keep score among themselves for certain and nefarious side games. We just don't post scores for all to see.

I'm sure the Executive Committee would not change a long standing precedent, not to mention that doing so would eliminated any chance of a certain loud mouth to step on his dick. Hopefully, he'll wear golf shoes.....if so I'll pay for the piccolo lessons.

Stack,

What about the .284" bore size, specifically in the original 7X57 and it's short action equivalent the 7X51? It should at least get an honorable mention.

As to penalties for political discussion, my suggestion would be to take a loaf of white bread, set it out of the wrapper at least a day before The Flatwater and also a pack of generic baloney that is unwrapped and allowed to dry and curl.

Then have Atticus bring along some Arkansas 'Swamp Water' and put Tiny on a bread, baloney and water diet since he is originally from the left coast and is probably a 'closet vegan' anyway and would enjoy tofu and shit like that! :D

Or we could have Larry Brown bring some original K-Rats. He probably has some stashed away some where.

IMO

If Sundog shows, he can bring the infested biscuits they fed Coast Guardies back when it was still wooden walls and sails.

We only let Layman count, and only in the morning. After Friday and Saturday night activities, it's more fun watching him try to count than it is watching him shoot. Now if he'd gone to that more famous Big Ten school in Iowa instead of the inferior Big 12 school . . .

After watching Layman shoot, I would think that it would be easier to count his misses than his broken clays. He doesn't miss all that much!

I have been directed by the committee to take a cat box and plant a nutritious grass to be accompanied by fat free Caesar dressing and a tin of anchovies for Tiny's penalty meals. He is free to drink whatever he wishes within the bounds of proper behavior.

In addition there is a sous chef spot available at the potato salad counter so as to not overtly tempt Tiny.

The official rundown is as follows: 16oz steak penalty, 100% kartoffel salat penalty, 100% pork BBQ, potato and Bratwurst penalty.

He has been directed by the committee? He is the committee! What a whack job. Can't be multiple personality disorder, as he has no personality. All that he has he gets through osmosis from his lovely and gifted bride. Cat litter lettuce and fat free dressing huh? We'll see. Desperate times call for desperate measures. Mark my words, this will be an unforgettable Flatwater.

What part of "Royalty refers to itself in the third person" don't you understand?  8)

You're screwed!! The appropriate quote I heard during the discussion phase of the Committee meeting was "Let him eat the grass that his beloved Texas beef eats!!"

I am really hoping this isn't a reference to the earlier Speedo threat.
