Room for Flatwater

#181 Post by btdtst »

Having intended to attend the Flatwater again this year I made a reservation a couple of months ago at the Sleep Inn in Syracuse. Now I am scheduled for surgery the week prior to the big event and am pissed I won't be able to be there. May try and sneak down one day just to show up and get a new cap! At any rate I am calling the motel today and cancelling my room so if anyone is still in need of a room there should be one available vey shortly.

Late breaking news: just lost our ride to Flatwater. Seriously.

Thumb a ride, Tiny. No problem getting picked up, toting a couple guns and 1,000 rounds of ammo . . .

Seriously, hope you make it!

You promised not to tell what I usually have to bring to shoot 200 clays. Thanks a lot.

Any one interested in riding together from the Front Range of Colorado?

If so, send me a pm.

This evening's word from Doug is that the three table display of Model 21s and London guns will again visit the Flatwater. You will recall that last year they were graced with signs reading "Gentlemen, Please Handle and Enjoy."

Where else will you see Model 21 Three Barrel sets in 20, 28, and .410? Where else to view both an H&H Royal Deluxe 28 gauge side by side with a Purdey Funeral model 28 gauge? Army & Navy (W&S) .410 hammerguns? And Stack's nemesis, the vaunted Cogswell & Harrison Extra Victor 16 gauge at 5 pounds 9 ounces?

Come one, come all, it's a Party!!

Also, not many places where the owner of said guns will be standing beside you on a station, hand you his H&H Royal, and tell you: "Here, try this."

Hence the background of the infamous "Tiny" slander, having been handed a little 28 to try.

Some day, some way I have to make this event. Sounds like the most fun a man can have with clothes on...or not actually wingshooting over good dogs.

For some, it's as much fun as they can have with their clothes off, also.
99.9999999%of robberies don't have the Mission Impossible theme song playing in the background. It's usually circus music.

Is it gun porn if it's actually there and not a photo on the net?
