Stack-

I'm not so sure, Like a good English Double, a good English Ale is very difficult to beat.

German Doubles, and Doppels really don't hold great appeal to me. But to each his own.

I wonder if Sauer, Merkel shooters prefer German Pils, or Bocks?
I'd love to be shooting a Purdy, or H & H, even a W&S, or other British Gun, followed by a nice pint of Bitter, or maybe a Mild. Cask Conditioned and served via a Beer Engine.....Oh to dream.

Everytime I see the pics of English driven hunts, with all the tweed, Plus fours, I want to take a shooting tour of the British Isles. But I need to find deeper pockets before I go and try that.

While English doubles are the top of the shotgun game, Bier is at it's peak in Germany.

I had best bring you folks some Shiner (not the sub par Bock).

Never have been able to shoot SXS models quite as well as O/U or semis. Costs me a few birds each round, have not figured out why. So, even though I love the look, feel and handling of the SXS, I am reluctantly moving away from them.

As to Beer...IT's ALL GOOD! I look forward to helping the Birddogbrewer consume a bit of ale at Flatwater!

Ash, I remember Coy's quite well...especially considering that every time I left there I was in an alcohol-induced stupor...OH to be a young man in training again! I did my Dickson Street college bartending stint at the Speakeasy. My guess is it was gone before you entered the "Hallowed Halls of Hog Knowledge"...but it was FUN while it lasted! :D
