No, I can only report what I have been told. I have seen the things dressed as cheerleaders on the sidelines at Kansas, K-state and Iowa/Iowa state games and must conclude they are correct. The single such club I have been in in Nebraska had women in it. I suppose it is possible for women to be in some such clubs in Kansas, perhaps imported Okies?

JJE has complained about the women in Kansas. So I put 1 and 1 together  .

I remember a few years back when Miss America was from Kansas. The Welcome to Kansas signs at the state line said "Welcome to Kansas, Home of Beautiful Women."

This is a great example of regional differences in terminology (or to paraphrase Churchill, two states separated by a common language). You see, in Kansas we call a building full of sheep and goats a barn, as opposed to what you call a gentlemen's club in Nebraska. I can see where you got confused and I'll be sure to mention this to our board of tourism so as not to further embarrass our northern neighbors when they visit our fine state.

This years crop of Nebraska Cheerleaders?
:?

What's she smuggling under that skirt?

It does seem that this is as far off the ground as University of Nebraska cheerleaders can get. The University of Nebraska outlawed its cheerleaders from doing pyramids, tumbling and basket tosses after a member of its spirit squad, Tracy Jensen, was paralyzed in 1996 after breaking her neck practicing a handspring. Jensen?s lawsuit against her school resulted in a $2.1 million settlement in 2001. Insurers already had covered hundreds of thousands of dollars in her medical expenses.

So the NU cheerleaders tip over and then sue? :?

Good Nebraska one-liners.

Everyone knows that the N on the Nebraska football helmet stands for "nowledge". On a cheerleader's sweater it stands for "nockers".

Of course some of us in Iowa can also make fun of our almost Div 1 program in Ames. Seems that the late, great Alabama coach, Bear Bryant, almost moved to Ames upon retirement. He wanted to get as far away as possible from major college football.

Having successfully breeched (breached, brooched????....) um, brought up the subject of Nebraska cheerleaders, I feel like my job here is done. Thanks for all of the contributions.
