Yeah I haven't seen anyone stuffing dollar bills in the guns cases so it's not entertainment. Yet people drool a lot and know they aren't going home with it so it has to be porn.

Also many pics of them have been posted here on the net and people have looked, it meets the definition of internet gun porn too.

Speaking of nudity or at least semi-nudity, I, for one, can't shake the image of Tiny coming out his front door at 5:30 AM last year wearing nothing but an A&M mug of coffee and "titey whities". Never having met the man before, I thought to myself, " I'm glad it won't be just he and I on this trip!"

If he was 'wearing' a cup of coffee, it's obvious he was in the midst of changing clothes and didn't want you to think he wasn't home. Obviously, he didn't spill on his tighties.

  8)

One of the more amusing aspects at FLATWATER is the capability, and willingness, of certain attendees to "shoot back-up" -- i.e.: they stand outside the shooting cage, near the shooter, and if/when he misses, the back-up shooter still breaks the clay before it hits the ground.

The Iowans seem particularly capable at this game. I enjoy watching the ribbing they hand out to those who miss -- especially certain famous gun writers.

Thus, few clays are wasted.

My personal favorite is to stand WAY outside the box, like maybe 30 yards or so, and break the targets BEFORE the shooter gets to them. Ask Brad Anderson about Jim Hight's Stephen Grant, damascus, side-lever, hammergun in my hands last year. Yes, it's true, guns do indeed get passed around.

For the record, Heisz.

Now I am worried about Brent - I saw him calling up the frogs at breakfest after 3 or 4 little sissy Margritas. 8)

Famous gun writers never miss. Just ask Stuart Williams. But then he doesn't attend Flatwater either. Flatwater only gets infamous gun writers--like me, Boyer, and Egbert.

Those margaritas wer noot shissydlinks. It wass a westTexas TReefogthat wss in matting rituall!!!

And Iowegians? are not the onliest guys that can help a brother out when breaking clays. Those Nebraska guys bon't even bother to ask you before they help! Hehe...

I want to get some more free lessons on shooting form this year. I calculated that I recieved about $1000 worth of free instructions from my fellow squadmates last year. I just hope the single malt and the burbon will suffice for payment this year.

Larry, I hope you and Terry will have copies of your books with you. I'll probably get some for gifts this year.

Moats doesn't qualify as infamous? :?

I would say that his Ruger ramblings alone would qualify him!

Thanks Chuck, but I believe that those are technically "ravings," not "ramblings." "Ramblings" connotes a mindless, directionless quality. Certainly my Ruger comments wouldn't fall into either of those catagories.

See you at Flatwater.
