Does anybody want to shoot....

#1 Post by Steve007 »

I will only be bringing one gun to Flatwater (a Guerini Magnus), as I hope to borrow some pump guns. But if anyone has an interest in shooting a 28" BSS Sporter (12 or 20; I have both), I can bring those, too. Obviously, there will be spiffier guns there, but when the subject of these guns is brought up on the board, there seems to be some interest in them.

PM or post.

Remember, unmerciful harrassment on those who shoot target guns.

The Guerini's a 20g. 6 #, 5 oz. Qualifies as a non-target gun, imo.

I'm just offering to loan the BSS Sporters if someone is curious, but the 12 at .05 and .15 probably hasn't enough choke for Flatwater. I know you'll agree. :? The 20 has Briley thinwalls.

How long are the barrels?

Voss,
If you were paying attention to the "Identify this part of the shotgun" thread, (posted before anyone called the gun into question) you would have seen;
See my extra-spiffy 20g, Guerini Magnus at Flatwater. Unfortuntely, it looks so good (imo), all I can do is shoot clays with it , as I am afraid to take it hunting. It HAS hammered some pheasants (with Hevi-shot),and I was traumatized every minute I was in cover. I have come to appreciate the bowling ball finish I once somewhat disdained.
For every action, there is an equal and opposite malfunction.

So you're sayin' it's your dedicated clays gun, right? :?

Steve,
I'm planning on bringing a couple of Model 12's and a Model 42 for you to try--I don't personally have the pump-gun disease but I am a carrier (or perhaps an enabler.)

It will be pointed out the Flatwater Executive Committee allows all guns no matter how configured.

Mr. Graber please see the updated penalty thread.

My dedicated clays gun is my 8 1/4 # Marocchi Conquista. Or maybe my 8# Superposed. Or someday my 30" Fabarm. Or my fine 391. I just shoot the (28") Guerini at clays until l work up my nerve to take it in the field again.

Mr. Brimley, I have shot one 16g. Model 12 in my life for maybe 20 shots, and was very impressed. Never saw a 42. Thanks.

Oh, is that all? Shit, I'll scratch it for you. :roll: Once it loses its cherry you'll be fine.
