Flatwater photos

#1 Post by wingshooter »

At this esteemed event, there is of course the fondling of fine firearms,

Image

some fine tuning with high tech gunsmithing tools,

Image

and even some fabrication, with the proud stockmaker apprentice displaying his latest effort:

If there are absolutes and constants in the universe, this grin is one of them:

Image

A bunch of good guys,

guns,

Image

and grub. Camera batteries died before I got pics of the latter. Some are already up, more will follow I'm sure. Here are a few more shots.

I think this is Pancho, but it could be Colonel Brown has found another gun with an appetite for his thumb:

I really enjoyed getting to know some guys better, especially Bruce Day

Dustin says to Rockie, "You know what you have there?" Rockie says, "Aw **** "

There should be some shots of the Iowegians in mortal combat with spinning discs, but I'll get these up for now. Hopefully the trick shooting of Toplever Tony will be up soon, as Fourtrax has some great video of that.

...Miss Connie spent hours getting his hair ready for the Flatwater this year!!
99.9999999%of robberies don't have the Mission Impossible theme song playing in the background. It's usually circus music.

I found the other file, so here are some more. At Grandpa's, we eat well

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

drink well

Image

Image

and have some of the most focused, well-trained dogs anywhere:

Image
Image

Not to be overlooked is the fine character of those who attend, sometimes even formally recognized by officials from the great state of Nebraska:

Image

Image

The Iowa bunch is a blast, and I got a few shots of them assembling, and on the course:

Image
Image
Image

Image

Image

They are towering figures in the world of target shooting,

Image

Image

Image

but try as I may, I could not get a shot of a broken clay

Image

Image

Image

Some guys bring a lot of guns. I'd never seen a 20 gun motor case before:

Image

Two of the main reasons we eat so well:

Image

Always fortunate to have Dustin and his expansive expertise. He is currently studying 18th century firearms and customs, shown here in his wig:

Image

Perhaps worthy of its own caption contest, Milton provides nearly as much Flatwater fodder as Rockie:

A few more to close out another tour de pics:

Yes, with some effort. In the first wingshooter picture post from top to bottom photo, L to R if people's faces exist in the photo. No face no name:

KGB (Kirk)

M&M (Milton)

KGB, Mike Caroll

Larry Harwood, Rocky (postoak)

Joe Chambers, Bluerock Brimley (Greg), Stack

esetters (Dustin), postoak, Slowhand (Pete)

Voss, M&M

Postoak, Larry Brown, KGB

Stack, postoak

unk, Bruce Day, unk, esetters, postoak

I'll let someone else cover the second batch of wingshooter's pics.

The guy checking out the libations and looking at the gun with me is none other than my little brother Patrick.

Fun fotos - reminds me of our Men's Breakfast Club - a bunch of creaky [I am one of the creakiest.] old buzzards having a good time.

Oh my, what fun you guys had. Wish I had been there for this year's shoot.

BTW, I would like to compliment Swingin' Steve on his fine attire from the Outer Banks of North Carolina...very nice shirt! 8) 8)
