I'd bet the location is exactly the same and that would be Grandpa's Sporting Acres at Syracuse, Nebraska. The date has always been the last weekend in April. That would be April 27-29, 2012. Wouldn't want to hold it the week before 'cause that's Earth Day and NONE of us would want to miss that!

Stack, Steve, Digger, correct me if I'm wrong.

... Mike, I hope you do make it. We all missed you last year. Not to mention you missed Pooch and Crandall.

Planning to be there whilst ever my arsehole points to the ground - which generated the question - except how the hell do you get to Syracuse NE. Have thought of hiring a Harley in Denver and riding over - but it might not be a good time of the year for such silliness. I would love to make it and meet you bunch of old farts drunks, reprobates and braggards - after damned near 1o years of haunting this bbs and its predecessor. I especially hope Lou Browning makes it along - if he can stand the company. I feel I owe that old bugger a drink - and Mad Hat too. I also think I owe Vossy a chance at one free swing at me, before I buy him a dram. There are many others as well I would really enjoy meeting.

So all in all, I am hoping to get everything aligned to drop in to say G'Day.

Rob, I'll pass on the swing and accept the dram. :D Come on down.

PS: the shoot's about 45 minutes south of Omaha.

You do sort of resemble the old school Drew Carey these days.

Bought my tickets! I hit the mainland on the 25th. Gives me a little jet lag recovery time and a chance to pick up a couple of recent purchases from my FFL before I head to Nebraska. My bro Pat has pretty much committed and the rest of the Springfield component will be in attendance in force.

I think my son Sam is going to bring one of his buddies who is also a shooter and a hunter. I thought that was a great idea as the clubroom seems to be getting a little gray around the edges. It would be great if we could get more young guys to get to Flatwater, so I would encourage you all to invite one or two young'uns. If we get them there and we don't bore them too much by telling the same old stories too often, I'd bet they'd be back year after year. If we do cultivate a younger cohort properly, maybe young Sammy Stack can wind up making potato salad and co-hosting a Flatwater someday.
