Anybody thinking about bringing, showing (shooting?) any of the dreaded black firearms at Flatwater this year?

I'll arrange for an M4gery, a 16" 6.8 SPC carbine, a 16" 7.62x39 carbine and a 20" A2 HBAR if people want to see them, perhaps shoot them. (and they are all done)

I have a new one, an M4gery, that I've yet to put a round through. I might bring it for your perusal and suggestion. It's a Stag Arms with a few mods that, frankly, I've forgotten. Looks pretty cool anyway.

Stags are nice. Bring it along and we'll take a look. Black guns are just fun. I may have a line on a Tantal Wz.88 5.45x39mm too. 8) That one isn't black but so what!

Got any recommendations on a good laser for the Stag?

No lasers for me, they give away where you are. I try to not disclose my location if possible, thus I don't use a laser. A good solid Aimpoint red dot is all you need. I like the M3 myself. It's point and shoot that the bad guys can't see. Battery life is way better too.

Mods I like on an AR run to K.I.S.S. I like free float tubes that are smooth mostly and vented. Back up iron sights, a 1X optic and the "winter" style trigger guards. A MIAD Magpul grip with battery storage of the Armorer's tool insert is cool too. I don't like vertical grips, flashlights, lasers, bayonets, yada, yada, yada. "Tactical" charging handle latches, extended mag releases, and the rest are fluff IMHO too.

A carbine is an up close and personal weapon. It should be a simple and instinctive to use as possible. It doesn't need to shoot 600m or break down cinder block walls as many think.

Don't "need" chrome pipes on a hot rod either. I was kinda looking for a removable laser.

Stack, I'd sure like to see and shoot some of your black guns, please!. We can own them here but they are classified as "Restricted" like pistols, as are AKs, and you can only take them to an approved range and back and you must be a member of that range and have the correct licence.
I have an SKS D with the AK mag, anyone can have one of those, it's fun and dirt cheap about $ 225.00 new, Norinco. I bought a ton of Czech surplus 7.62x39, it's very corrosive so I can't use it in my Yugo mini-mauser. But for plinking in the SKS, it's fine. I fitted a NcStar Chinese red dot sight, $200.00 new plus a new rear cover with a rail, amazing value and the SKS shoots well with or without that red dot scope.

No problems Mike, I'd be happy to let you shoot them.
